Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Hey everybody, it’s Charles and I wanted to take just a moment to talk with you about something that is incredibly important. Cancer is one of the worst things that I have ever had to see or deal with in my entire life. I haven’t had to step in the ring with this monster myself but I’ve been in the corner for way too many of my friends and family. I’m also not trying to say one type is any more important to fight than the other; we must fight them all. However, October is about more than Halloween.

I’ve lost friends and family, young and old, men and women, to this opponent, cancer, and it breaks my heart. From my nana and grandma, to my Tia Yolanda, to one of my dearest friends Nate. The thing here is that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

We’ve all been jabbed by this opponent. Whether you have fought it personally, have been in the corner of a dear family member or friend that was fighting it, or simply been influenced by someone that has been touched by it, we all need to stand up to breast cancer. If you need someone to talk to about anything, fighting back, encouraging your fighter from the corner, or even just cheering from the crowd, feel free to contact me. I’m always here to listen and talk with you about my experiences and try to help you with yours. I want to say a few things to everyone reading this…

To the crowd, those of you that haven’t been immediately touched by this opponent, never stop cheering. Your encouragement is huge to the fighter and even those in the corner. You can cheer with donations to breast cancer research projects or, even better, cancer research in general.

To the corner, those directly influenced and touched by friends or family fighting this opponent, DO NOT EVER THROW IN THE TOWEL! Your fighter is going to look at you sometimes and hope that you will just call it a fight. They are wanting to quit at times, and you have to be there to support them and help them to realize that this fight is not over. You have to clean those cuts and ice down that swelling. This fight MUST continue. As hard as you feel it is for you, it’s even harder for your fighter.

To the fighter, you are phenomenal. Don’t ever forget that. I know you’re taking a beating but I’m right here with you, right here for you. It’s time to give it EVERYTHING! ALL OF YOUR POWER, ALL OF YOUR LOVE, EVERYTHING YOU GOT!!!!!!!!!!! You CAN beat this! You have to stay strong!!!!! You may feel cornered, but that is the best time to throw that big jab, hook, uppercut combo and side step out of that corner. YOU GOT THIS!!!

I’m never going to throw in the towel on you. It’s The 12th Round and no one else will ever be able to step in that ring for you. It’s because I love you that I will always tell you don’t quit – commit, FIGHT BACK, and win!
